This year, MMoA illuminates the theme of “Art in Common,” how art bridges differences of language, culture, time, and place. Magic Hour: Art between Waking and Dreams presents art that bridges our own, innermost unconscious to our waking selves. Featuring 22 works by Linden Frederick, complemented by founders of the Old Lyme and Mystic art colonies, this exhibition examines the boundary between thought and feeling, day and night, action and repose. Therein lies a liminal world of profound interest, both to the artists who paint and draw it, and to the writer who collects their work.
