Journals and diaries have always excited people, as handwritten letters with notations in the margin, musings on the borders; Scrapbooks with bits and pieces from long-ago parties and events that make up a life. A journal is intended to record a vast amount of information about what you experience, the focus is to set down details, bold descriptions, and impressions that will enable you to follow in your footsteps with vivid recollection.

This workshop will focus on creative writing stimulated by writing prompts, then finding the images within each student’s writing. Students will create these images using various artist materials such as colored pencils, watercolors, and collages. Each participant will begin learning the process of keeping their own creative journal. Keeping a journal doesn’t require remarkable skill in writing or painting but the final work is worth all of the effort.
