Get in touch with the marine environment and make your own seaweed pressing in this unique workshop. Learn about the history of seaweed pressings from the Victorian era and interesting information about marine algae! The instructor will demonstrate techniques in arranging the seaweed decoratively on paper. Students will use local seaweed collected from the RI and CT coastlines and will make two pressings that can be framed and hung at home.

Seaweed pressing kits, which are reusable, can be purchased from the instructor, at $25 for two kits.
