Mapmaking fulfills one of our deepest desires to understand the world around us and our place in it. This all-day workshop with artist Lisa Lyman Adams, fine artist and illustrator known for her illustrative maps created for the New York Times and mainstream magazines focuses on seeing the world creatively through mapping. The workshop is perfect for map lovers, travelers, or neighborhood enthusiasts who like to share their stories of places they are going or have been through creative illustrations. Using various art tools, specialty paper, imaginative exploration, graphic expression, and drawing skills, students will discover and learn the basics of creative map making and create their own unique map.

MATERIAL LIST
- Quality drawing paper in pads or loose / suggested size: 11” X 14”
- Tracing paper in pads or loose-same size as drawing paper
- 18” metal ruler
- Colored Pencils, various colored markers with smaller tips, Watercolor set with smaller brushes #6/#8 “round” or and/or any media you are comfortable with.
- Pencils- mechanical preferred 2B preferred…soft and dark
- Kneaded eraser
- Any reference (calendar art, collected imagery, colored paper)
