Jim Burbank Scholarship Fund

MMoA owes its rich heritage and vitality to leaders who envisioned a museum, where creativity could find a safe haven and a warm welcome irrespective of convention. We are honored to observe that there was never a more committed, open-hearted friend of MMoA than former Board member, Elected Artist, and photographer, James Burbank, who passed away December 2020.
Jim devoted time, skill, and resources to the good of his community. His family and friends on the Museum’s Board and staff remember how he loved to solve problems and provide food, clothing, or financial assistance to individuals in need. He was also a gifted photographer and one of the Museum’s Elected Artist Members. We are deeply honored by his family’s wish to put gifts in his memory to work in a way he would appreciate: providing a free studio art class each term for a child who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend. MMoA is honored to do so and notify the family of all gifts. We thank them and express condolences on their loss.
