This class will take you beyond basic pastel methods and techniques, to the next step. Working with a variety of materials, create unique surfaces for pastel paintings. Work with under washes and learn to manipulate materials to achieve distinctive effects.

Topics that will be covered in the course:

• Creating surfaces using modeling paste, Matt gel medium, gesso with pumice, textural spray.
• Use of liquid fixative.
• Washes for underpainting.
• Use of monotype as a starting point.
• Advanced pastel techniques.

Chalk Pastels: Soft Pastels- Set of 24 or more(Chalk No Oil pastels).
