Bill and Paula Alice Mitchell have been collecting art and craft works for almost fifty years, amassing an extensive collection of African American art, porcelain, wooden and metal sculpture, basketry, and pop-up and mechanical books. There isn’t a wall of flat surface in their home that has not been claimed by a painting, work on paper, or a piece of Contemporary American Craft (in addition to seven generations of family photos).
The Mitchells have graciously offered to open their home for a very special session of MMoA’s Collectors Roundtable, to be enjoyed by fellow collectors and those interested in beginning their own collections. There is art in every room (including the bathroom!), and Paula and Bill invite you to wander freely, with plenty of time to ask questions, enjoy discussions, and view the broad range of art they have acquired. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided.
This event is limited to a group of 10 attendees. Registration is free, but required. Directions shall be shared with registered attendees only.
