GALLERIES CLOSED TUESDAY FEB 13 DUE TO WEATHER / EVENING EVENT RESCHEDULED
WINTER HOURS: Tuesday - Sunday 11AM - 4PM
The professional artists who founded MMoA in 1913 as the Society of Mystic Artists, and then as the Mystic Art Association, risked their careers in what was then a remote place, far from the patronage and prestige of New York and Boston, to create an independent art colony.
Over the years that followed, as the population grew, galleries sprang up, and travel became easier, the organization’s artist members supported each other with critique and encouragement, sharing information and resources as new models for making and selling art spread to cities and towns across the nation.
Expanded in 2004 as Mystic Art Center to offer a rich studio education program, MMoA today is built on a strong foundation in both the exhibition and the creation of fine art. The path our founders took to a vibrant new creative life has led, with the growth of the organization, to opportunities for a broad public to enjoy, create, and share visual self expression.
