MUSEUM IS CLOSED FOR INSTALLATION UNTIL OCTOBER 27
CURRENT HOURS: Monday - Sunday 11AM - 5PM
The artists who founded the Mystic Art Association (MAA) in 1913 did so with the intent of becoming a museum, to foster the arts in Mystic for practitioners and audiences alike. Over a century later, both goals have been achieved with MAA’s evolution into the modern-day Mystic Museum of Art (MMoA).
MMoA continues to honor the artistic traditions of its institutional history with the Members and Elected Artists Exhibition, an opportunity for all elected artist and artist members in good standing to share their artwork with the community. Unthemed and juried only for awards, the Members and Elected Artists Exhibition is often the most uninhibited of the calendar year.
The subject matter on display in 2022 is as varied and vibrant as the media in which it is captured, from the time-honored and venerable: oil on canvas, egg tempera, watercolor, pastel, ceramic, and wood; to newer media and techniques: acrylic, photography, ink, wax, collage, and mixed media pieces that combine glitter, crystals, seashells, and paper.
