Gain understanding of how to conceptualize and construct a portrait drawing, utilizing a live model each week. Working from quick studies and longer poses, students will systematically learn the “landscape” of the human face. Explore techniques for capturing accurate anatomical features, proportions, and likenesses to develop realistic and expressive portraits. Demonstrations will be given and individualized exercises will be explored each week. The class does not assume any prior experience and is designed to cater to all levels.
