Monotypes, dry-point engraving, lino block printing, and collagraphs are all creative approaches to the printmaking process—often using drawing and painting techniques. Monotypes and block prints do not require a press while dry-point engraving does. They all offer the opportunity to work with a variety of materials and methods that enable you to create with spontaneous and often surprising results. This class will explore how to combine various techniques and simple materials to achieve a creative understanding of printmaking—for seasoned artists and beginners alike.
