Color my World
Where would art be without color? Get ready to be an expert on all things to do with colors. Projects will focus on the basics of the color wheel – from understanding colors and how they work together in art, to mixing and blending, how colors affect our emotions etc. Campers will create art that celebrates the wonderful world of color that we live in.
Fantastical Beasts
Children spend the week creating magical kingdoms complete with fairies, unicorns, woodland creatures, mermaids, elves, dragons and more! These characters are brought to life through role-playing, storytelling, illustrations, and 3-D sculptures.
Around the World
Join us on an art exploration around the world. Each day will take you to a new place as we explore exciting cultures through arts and crafts, stories, music and more. Create African jewelry, Tibetan mandalas, Chinese brush painting, Mexican folk crafts, and much more.
Nature & Art
Give your child the chance to experience the transformative power of art and nature. Projects in assorted media, drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and more will inspire creativity, promote well-being, and enhance your child’s connection to nature. Storytelling and Art
We’ve all heard the phrase “a picture tells a story.” It’s true – people throughout history have told stories through art. From cave painting to graphic novels, we can use art to communicate our fantasies and experiences. This camp will use myths, legends, fairytales, and other genres of storytelling to inspire art, imagination, and wonder.
Art Gone Wild (full Day Program 9am – 4pm)
Explore and create in this cooperative camp opportunity that will bring out the nature-loving artist in your child. This collaboration between the Mystic Museum of Art (MMOA) and Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center (DPNC) will use the grounds of both organizations as inspiration for constructing sculptures, textiles, sketches, paintings and more! Discover the wonderful sounds, patterns, colors, and rhythms of animals and how that can be translated into art. Get ready to go wild for animals and art!

Mixed Media: Wonders of the Ocean
“Sea” how much the ocean influences your world! From seascapes rendered in watercolor to deep-sea dioramas, create your favorite visions of our watery planet.
3-D Modeling
Students explore model making and sculpture using a variety of non-ceramic clays – such as Polymer, Air Dry and Sculpey. Campers will study the basics of form, texture, and color to turn their illustrations into compelling 3-D designs. Recreate characters and animals from popular books, comics and movies and develop the skills to design your very own!

Design Camp
This camp will introduce the basic skills that designers use to create innovative products and environments by transforming ideas into workable solutions. Demonstrations and fun design challenges will illustrate the concept presented each day. Through observation, problem solving, visualization, storyboarding, prototyping, and communication of ideas, this camp will challenge and develop your creative thought processes and give you the skills to turn your ideas into reality.
