MAC Participates in National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

On Tuesday, October 16 from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Mystic Museum of Art will honor National Breast Cancer Awareness month with a special exhibition of art from “In the Pink.” The exhibition will be held during MMoA’s final Art After Dark concert of the season.
“In the Pink”, is an exhibit sponsored by the Breast Health Task Force of Southeastern Connecticut. Through artistic expression the exhibit raises awareness about early breast cancer detection and health. This exhibit will feature art for sale from Tom Jennerwein and sisters Samantha Smith Listorti and Tara Rose Smith. Information on breast health awareness will also be available to the public.
Special guests, the Soul Searchers will perform live on MMoA’s patio and artist Tiffany Roman will create art for sale during their performance. April Brunelle brings balloon art to Art After Dark as a special treat for both kids and adults!
A portion of the proceeds from “In the Pink” will go toward The Connecticut Breast and Cervical Early Detection Program, a comprehensive screening program available throughout Connecticut for medically underserved women.
Art After Dark brings together music and art and showcases them to the community. Tickets available at the door: $12 (non-members); $10 (members); $2 (children 6-12) Children 5 and under are free. Guests should dress for the weather. Rain or shine. Event will move indoors if weather is inclement. Free parking is available in MMoA’s parking lot; see a staff member during the event.
